Paris 2014 - Part 2

Already a day behind.  The wife is making fun of me.  We started the day a bit late.  I'm blaming jet lag.  Here we are exploring the Latin quarter around 11am.
We found a sandwich place for breakfast/lunch.
Place St. Michel.  According to Rick Steves this is where the hippie, bohemian crowd hangs out.  Not that we brought his book along or anything.
Headed over to Notre Dame to wait in line to get in.  It's free to enter the church.
Always amazed by the construction of these places.
Next we waited in a very long line to climb to the top.
After not seeing any hunchbacks we headed back down.  Of the many bridges crossing the Seine you find these love locks along the railings.  It's gotten a bit out of hand.
After a quick stop for coffee, beer and fries Kiri and I made our way towards the Louvre.
I met this nice French girl in the park, behind the Louvre.
All this walking takes a lot out of a guy!
This obelisk is at a site called Place de la Concorde.  This is where King Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette lost their heads during the Revolution.
Next we headed down the Champs-Élysées, towards the Arc de Triomphe.
The French are out to get me with their "ongoing repairs to national treasures".  We headed upstairs.
View from the top!
Grabbed some dinner at a fancy cafe.  Salad and lasagne.
And of course dessert, crime brûlée.
We finished the night waiting for the lights to come on the tower at the trocadero.
Took the Metro back to the hotel where I promptly fell asleep.  Another great day down.
